 l Gray's handle it for you - plus\, you're supporting a great cause:\n\nEv
ery year\, children in our community enter the family court system after e
xperiencing abuse or neglect\, often feeling frightened\, overwhelmed\, an
d alone. The process is long and complex\, filled with unfamiliar faces an
d difficult decisions that shape a child’s future. CASA (Court Appointed S
pecial Advocates) exists to ensure no child walks that journey without a d
edicated champion by their side.\n\nAs part of a respected national and st
ate network\, CASA of Rochester/Monroe County trains and supervises qualit
y\, committed volunteers who advocate in family court for the best interes
ts of children who have been or are at risk of being removed from their ho
me of origin. Our goal is simple but profound: to help every child thrive
in a safe\, permanent home.\n\nWhen a child enters into the family court s
ystem\, they may wait 18–24 months (or longer) for a judge to determine th
e best permanent placement for them\, whether that’s returning home\, livi
ng with relatives\, or being adopted. During that time\, children face unc
ertainty and emotional strain. A CASA volunteer becomes their steady\, sup
portive presence. CASAs visit children monthly – at school\, in foster hom
es\, and during family visits – to understand their needs\, monitor their
well-being\, and provide a voice for them in the courtroom. Their firsthan
 d insights help Judges make informed\, child-centered decisions.\n\nCASA v
olunteers undergo intensive training in understanding trauma\, child devel
opment\, and the complexities of the family court system. The work is chal
 lenging\, meaningful\, and life-changing – not only for the child\, but fo
r the volunteer as well!\n\nEvery dollar helps CASA of Rochester/Monroe Co
unty carry out our mission\, and your support makes a huge difference!
